France
Domaine R de la Grange is a small, family run vineyard in the heart of the Muscadet AOC, current owner Raphaël Luneau is the ninth generation of his family to run 30 hectares of vines in the villages of Le Landreau, Vallet and Le Loroux Bottereau. Well-known locally for their exceptional Muscadet grown on old vines, most of the land is planted to Melon de Bourgogne, alongside a little Chardonnay and Folle Blanche for their spectacular Méthode Traditionelle as well as Gamay, for their eponymous wine. There is a great diversity of terroirs and soil types across the villages, which include Schists, mica schists, gneiss and granite, and each grape variety is planted in the plots best suited to its success. They have not used chemicals in the vineyard for many decades and rely on sustainable methods of vineyard management. Every wine they produce is unique because each plot is vinified separately. Keen members of their local Appellation, they've earned every award going including the Gold Medal in the Concours des Vignerons Independants in 2024.
