Vineyard: Valtravieso

Grower: Ricardo Velasco Pla

Age of Vines: 25 years old

Grapes: 82% Tinto Fino, 11% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon

Village: Piñel de Arriba

Region: Castilla y León

Soil: Limestone soils with localized clay pockets throughout the estate

Production Methods: Grapes are carefully selected from Finca La Revilla. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot undergo extended pre-fermentative maceration, while Tinto Fino receives a shorter maceration to preserve freshness and varietal character. Fermentation follows a gentle, infusion-led extraction approach, with just one or two daily pump-overs and a délestage at the optimal stage. Post-fermentative maceration is guided by continuous tasting to achieve balance, texture and structural refinement. The wine is aged for around 13 months in fine-grained French oak barrels, 25% new, followed by four months in 5,000-litre French oak foudres. This final ageing stage enhances integration and complexity while preserving freshness, balance and terroir expression.
