Domaine du Fondis is a small, independent vineyard in Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil, on the right bank of the Loire. It has been in the Jamet family for 6 generations and the current owner, Laurent Jamet, has not only embraced the long held traditions and techniques that allow him to make wines that are a true representation of the terroir, but he continues to build and evolve. He has added a further 11 hectares to the original 12, adding some prime plots on the left bank of the Loire, planted with Chenin grapes that thrive in the tuffeau/limestone soil. These are the sort of wines that are becoming harder to find. Wines that speak of the past, and that hold an important place in the present.
