Vincent Fournier is the fifth generation of his family to farm 11 hectares of vines near the village of Bligny les Beaune in Burgundy. He grows the grapes for each wine on plots that are under a hectare, in some cases as small as 0.15 hectare. Traditional farming with all the work on the vines carried out by hand. His Perle Rare Pinot Noir is a passion project made outside the AOC from selected grapes from a plot in Pommard, with spectacular results. Vines are largely on a clay chalk soil with vines between 35 and 60 years old, the wines hold their own against more well-known vintages.
