  Château Pavillon Beauregard
France
Château Pavillon Beauregard comprises 12 hectares on a clay-gravel plateau containing hardpan subsoil, planted with 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. in the capable hands of the Moulin and Cathiard families who combined forces in 2014 to continue the long history of Pomerol which go back to the 12th century. Augustin Belloy and Vincent Priou have overseen the vineyard's conversion to organic agriculture and run a very tight ship. Intra-plot mapping identifies all the subtle physico-chemical differences in each plot of soil, and active tree and bush planting and management help preserve the extensive biodiversity on the estate. Balanced crop loads are enforced to achieve the highest possible quality grapes which are hand harvested at optimal phenolic ripening on a plot by plot basis. Small 3 hectolitre mobile bins are brought to the top of the vats via a lift and the berries are tipped into temperature controlled concrete vats for vinification. The attention to detail shines in every bottle of this superb Pomerol.
