Castelveder

Castelveder

Italy

Ten hectares of some of the most beautiful vineyards in the region are home to the Castelveder family and the three generations of women who run the winery alongside their partners and siblings. Created by Elena Nulli and her husband Renato Alberti in 1975, the estate is currently in the expert hands of their grandchildren Camilla and Francesco. A wide range of soil types across their land, allows grapes used in the making of their exceptional Franciacorta DOCG to shine. The wine is made according the the strict guiding principles of what is often referred to as Italian 'Champagne', in the sense that it is made using the classic Champenoise method. Grapes are hand harvested and very gently pressed and fermentation takes place in the Castelveder cellars for a minimum of 24 months, depending on the vintage. Riddling and disgorgement also take place at the winery.
